Emmerdale fans were a little confused on Monday night, as Jamie Tate revealed his age to Belle Dingle.
The son of Kim Tate was chatting with fling Belle about his life falling apart, following his split from his wife Andrea and their ongoing custody battle.
Jamie split from Andrea after learning of her past affair with Graham Foster, and now they're fighting for custody of daughter Millie.
After it was confirmed he'd slept with Belle recently, with few residents knowing about it, the pair have remained awkward around each other.
In the latest episode they shared another moment, as he opened up to her.
But viewers were more distracted with how old the character was rather than his current storyline.
Jamie told Belle: "I'm a 23-year-old soon to be divorcee who lives at home with his mum."
This is correct, of course, with Jamie born on the show back in September 1996.
He was at the centre of a paternity bombshell storyline himself, years before his daughter was.
Frank Tate and Dave Glover were both potentially the father of Kim's child.
But the timeline of events since then appears to have thrown fans off, with them not believing Jamie could be 23.
One fan commented: "So if Jamie is 23 that would mean he got Andrea pregnant at 17 and still went to university. come @emmerdale sort it out."
Another said: "Jamie is 23? Sorry don’t believe it."
A third commented: "No way is Jamie only 23."
Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Jamie 23, thought it was 7 Uni years to become a vet."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
