Unimpressed soap fans have given their verdict on Emmerdale versus Coronation Street after the two shows went head to head during 'super soap week'.
Some fans were not impressed with Emmerdale at all, accusing the ITV soap of 'nonsense' storylines and 'infuriating' twists and turns from serial killer Meena.
Others said they enjoyed both, but many seemed to be unhappy with Emmerdale against Coronation Street.

"Both were rubbish plots but the Johnny and Jenny scenes together when down that drain kinda salvaged Corrie. Nothing salvaged Emmerdale."
One said: "Both had creative issues.. But Emmerdale had way more. So def Corrie"
And another was not keen on the use of music during Andrea's death scene: "Soaps are being ruined by the addition of god-awful music overlapping the scenes, just stop #EastEnders #CoronationStreet #Emmerdale"
One added: "Have to say I've been dipping in and out of Corrie and Emmerdale all week and think I preferred @itvcorrie just because the Meena story is so infuriating & I think I care more about the corrie characters"
One Corrie fan said: "Corrie was overhyped yet for me, still managed to keep me interested more than Emmerdale. I’m baffled that their stories were allowed to air they were so underdeveloped"
And some were happy with neither soap.
One said: "Can Someone SOS ( save our soaps). Emmerdale was a joke all week,, Meena the maniac survives and Andrea dies and that death cannot be pinpointed back to Meena and Coronation Street holes appeared everywhere but the wrong people drowned in them."
Another said: "What is it with our #ENGLISHSOAPS with all the gang and thug/guns stuff come on lighten up like the #pandemic wasn't enough now we have to watch that thug stuff on telly @Hollyoaks @bbceastenders @emmerdale @itvcorrie"
One said: "Well, I get that they can't be very realistic or the most exciting thing to happen would be somebody mowing their lawn, but sometimes they completely jump the shark and this week both Corrie and Emmerdale were nonsensical."
Another said: "I’ve watched Coronation Street and Emmerdale since my youth it’s a habit now , but they are getting to ridiculous for words and the standard of acting is terrible so dip in and out.
Others were happy with Emmerdale and Coronation Street
One said: "I'm still reeling from this year's Super Soap Week. Outstanding performances from all the cast on both @itvcorrie and @emmerdale. Absolutely devastated that Andrea and Johnny died. Looking forward to seeing what happens next.
"Massive respect to all the cast and crew of @itvcorrie & @emmerdale for an amazing #SuperSoapWeek, and managing such fantastic storylines while complying with Covid regulations."
One said: "Anne's been a fab actress. I cannot believe we've lost Andrea this week. Good luck for everything. I hope there's a twist somewhere and we get her get somehow. Anna will be missed, So sad."
