Emmerdale fans in tears as Marlon gets down the aisle in emotional scenes

Emmerdale fans were upset after the Thursday, August 11 episode of the soap showed the dramatic wedding of Marlon Dingle and Rhona Goskirk. The couple married in front of villagers before a fight broke out in emotional scenes.

The ITV soap built up to the big day as it had been touch and go after Marlon played by Mark Charnock had a health issue on his stag do. The character is currently recovering from a stroke and his best friend rushed him to the hospital to get his blood pressure under control.

Luckily, he was discharged and able to attend his wedding the following day but it almost didn't happen as Marlon was late to the church with Rhona asking where he was. At the last minute, he wheeled into the chapel in a wheelchair and managed to get down the aisle to be married.

Fans took to Twitter to declare they were left sobbing after the scenes when Marlon finally asked Rhona to marry him. Fans were delighted when the couple exchanged vows and then visited the Woolpack where a fight broke out between Jai and Kit over Laurel.

One fan tweeted: "Brought a tear into my eyes and what a beautiful storyline and congratulations on your work whatever you did."

Another commented: It was such a special and touching episode in which you gave a real performance (as always!)"

Another person wrote: "Really heart felt, I was crying when I watched it. Really moving scene."
