Emmerdale fans horrified as Jessie Dingle is 'murdered' by Max in brutal shoot-out

Jessie Dingle was brutally shot as the Emmerdale siege came to a bloody conclusion this evening.

Gangster Max, who was hoping to get revenge on Billy after he botched the robbery, managed to sneak into Billy's house and held Marlon, April and Jessie hostage.

Discovering what had happened, Billy snuck into the house without Max knowing and got April out.

He then came face to face with Max, who he ended up grappling with to get the gun off him.

Billy got the upper hand when Max let go of the gun and threw him to the floor, ruthlessly punching him and leaving his face mangled.

Jessie pleaded with him to stop and Billy let go of Max to hug his mum.

Unfortunately, Max managed to grab the gun lying on the floor and shot at Jessie.

The head teacher fell to the floor while Marlon held her in his arms as she bled out all over him.

A distraught Jessie called out: "Jessie! No, no, no..."

Furious, Billy pointed the gun at Max, who taunted him and told him to "do it".

Armed police filled the room and demanded that Billy put the gun on the floor and he obeyed.

"She's been shot, she's been shot," Marlon cried out as Max was taken away from the police.

Jessie mumbled that she "knew he would make it" before losing consciousness.

"No, Jessie, don't go to sleep!" Marlon pleaded.

Jessie was wheeled off into the ambulance and Billy insisted: "She's tough, she'll be ok."

But April hit back: "How do you know?"

Billy wanted to go with her in the ambulance but was stopped by Marlon, who was furious over Billy's actions.

"He may have pulled the trigger but you did this to her," Marlon snarled before heading into the ambulance.

Will Jessie survive?
