Emmerdale viewers were left horrified as evil DI Malone threatened Cain Dingle's young son Isaac.
Tonight, Cain dared to go up against the crooked detective after discovering that he was setting Will up, unaware of how dangerous that was.
After the pair met up in a layby and when Cain told Malone to back off, the detective did not take it well.
When Cain returned to the village, he was horrified to see the garage trashed and Moira's bull brutally killed.
He headed up to the farm to check on Moira but was disconcerted to see Malone already at the farm acting as a detective.
Malone went on to pose questions about whether there is anyone who could be holding a grudge against him.
When the pair were left alone, Malone sinisterly glanced over to Isaac and remarked: "Nice little lad, you've got."
A shaken Cain replied: "You've made your point, now back off."
But the detective wasn't done: "Now if you do remember anybody you did upset, I'd make amends before things really do get out of hand."
Earlier this week, the detective tried to set a trap up for Will, played by Dean Andrews, to push him into doing another drugs job for him.
But Will's anxiety began to get the better of him over the increasing stress of the situation and when Cain discovered a hidden package in Malone's car, he insisted that he would be having a little 'chat' with Malone.
Will Cain regret messing with Malone?
