Since Jimmy accidentally killed Paul during his wedding to Mandy he had been consumed with guilt.
His court proceedings have caused him and wife Nicola to drift apart after Jimmy announced his intention to plead guilty.

On Emmerdale tonight, Nicola was left upset after Jimmy didn't tell her it was his plea hearing.
Initially, she said she would attend, however, Jimmy surprised her when he revealed the meeting was later that day.
But with Brenda unable to man the cafe, Nicola was unable to attend.
Meanwhile, Jimmy confessed his troubles to Mandy, with many fans spotting a romantic connection developing between the two.
But most viewers are desperate for Jimmy and Nicola to stay together.
Clare tweeted: "Hope they get back together. I like them as a couple."
Ryan said: "I hope Nicola and Jimmy can resolve their problems."
And Bobby added: "I really can’t stomach Jimmy’s betrayal to Nicola."
Jimmy and Nicola first became an item in 2009 before marrying in 2010.
In 2011, the pair nearly divorced after Jimmy had an affair with Kelly Windsor.
