Bernice Blackstock made a dramatic - if not hilarious - return to the Dales earlier this week after more than a year away.
The hairdresser, played by actress Samantha Giles, has been off-screen for 18 months after she escaped to Australia.
And we say dramatic return as as she waltzed into Home Farm where daughter Gabby Thomas now lives, she almost shot dead by Kim Tate.
But fans of the ITV soap have been distracted for various reasons upon Bernice's return.
The latest comes following Friday night's trip to Emmerdale when she and Dianne had lunch with pregnant Gabby in The Woolpack.
However, she ended up bumping into her ex Liam and his new fiancée Leyla but Gabby was left fuming when her mum didn't appear shocked or upset by the news, and assumed her mum had only returned because she had heard the news.
The teen ended up storming out but it wasn't the drama viewers were paying attention to.
"For someone who's supposedly been living in Australia for some time, Bernice is rather pale. #Emmerdale," commented one.
Another said: "Bernice doesn’t look well #Emmerdale."
And it wasn't just her lack of a sun-kissed tan that got viewers talking.
"Why is Bernice wearing a wig??!!!” asked one following her return during Thursday's soap double bill.
Another said: "#Emmerdale Bernice is so clearly wearing a wig. The parting is really bad and you can see it falling off and revealing her own hair."
"Is it me or does it look like Bernice is wearing a wig? #emmerdale," a third asked.
And the answer is, yes she is.
Actress Samantha addressed the wig question on Twitter, telling her followers: "Re wig. I only have fab hair when it’s been given a good blow dry by a professional make-up artist.
"Sadly we have to do our own hair right now and I can’t! As B is a hairdresser her hair needs to look coiffed hence wig!"
