Emmerdale fans were elated to see Diane return to the village after a break from the soap.
Charity's downward spiral has continued following Vanessa's exit from the Dales.
The Dingle has started binge drinking and shunned her son Noah and granddaughter Sarah.

But Diane was back tonight to kick some sense into Charity and motivate her to start over.
Diane said: "You can't expect things to go back to the way they were.
"But there's so much here and there are things you are getting right."
Fans were happy to see Diane return to the Dales.

Previously, ITV's director of television Kevin Lygo spoke out about actors and actresses who are older returning to the soap with their younger castmates.
Kevin said: "Some people who are in a dangerous zone, if by age or health reasons, they won't be there, I'm sure, for a time.
"I don't want Ken Barlow to get sick on my watch. We will be very careful and mindful about what's happening."
