His partner, Mandy Dingle, was seen still in her wedding dress as the visibly emotional bride watched him slip away following the fatal crash.
His death came after Jimmy King lost control of his truck and ploughed into the wedding venue on Thursday, not knowing Paul and Liv Flaherty were inside.
Liv managed to escape the wreckage but Paul was not so lucky.

The crash came just as Paul was seen brutally attacking Liv after she uncovered the truth of the abuse on his son Vinny.
But despite this, Vinny's ex-girlfriend Liv still attempted to save his violent and abusive dad.
Moments before the fatal crash, she was seen walking away as Paul cruelly taunted her just as the barn exploded and left them both fighting for their lives.
In the aftermath on Friday's episode a grief-stricken Mandy was still in her wedding dress at the hospital after Vinny collapsed and underwent surgery for internal bleeding.
Vinny was assaulted by his dad, Paul, which landed him in hospital. But when Paul lost it again, he stood on his son - potentially causing his latest collapse.
Mandy learned the truth about Paul after she confronted Liv, desperate for answers.
But despite the highly emotional scenes, viewers were distracted by Mandy's unusual skill.
"Mandy rocking around the hospital in her veil with her bouquet and her phone in her bra? Iconic. #Emmerdale," tweeted one.
