Emmerdale fans decide who shot Al Chapman after huge hint at end of episode

Emmerdale fans are still convinced that the murder of Al is not what it seems, as they throw their weight behind a theory that Cain is not the real killer. And it is not just fans that are in doubt about Cain's guilt, as tonight's episode revealed that one familiar face is also feeling suspicious.

Speaking to McKenzie, Moira revealed that she was also feeling a little bit uneasy about Kerry's potential involvement in the murder. She even admitted that she would have "missed" any escalation in the conflict between Al and Cain, but was not convinced that there had been any.

Admitting that she has recently been very focused on Faith and her sad death, Moira said: "I've been going over and over it and if things had escalated between them...I've been completely oblivious. I've been so focused on his mum.

"And there's Kerry, she was outside the barn after Al got shot - I mean, she must have been following them? Or is that some massive coincidence." McKenzie then tried to talk Moira down, as she was getting her coat on, telling her that Kerry is "grieving" and insisting that Moira "let the police do their job".

But Moira was having none of it and left to confront Kerry, just as she had been coaxed outside by a concerned Dan. Catching Kerry outside her house, Moira asked if she had been able to tell the police anything.

"Kerry, hi. I'm really sorry about Al, were you able to tell the police much?" Moira quizzed, "You are the only witness so far. Cain's been charged anyway and I'm just trying to find out why they were both in my barn."

She added: "Please, just think of Kyle". This riled Kerry, who replied: "Are you really that low? You're going to use my own grandson to get around us? Just leave me alone, Al's dead because your husband's evil."

But viewers are not so sure that this is the case, particularly after tonight's episode ending - which seemed to shed some light on a cover-up. Speaking to Chas in prison, Cain urged her to "bury" the relationship with Al, so that she could return to her old life with Paddy.

He then suggested that this would not be the only thing worth burying, telling Chas that Aaron's mobile phone - which contains some incriminating evidence - had been thrown in the bottom of the slurry pit.

The episode ended with this rather telling admission from Chas, telling Cain: "I will do what you want, but I will never forgive you."

Fans are now running riot with their own cover-up theories. @FLady1980 said: "I think Cain is using Chas for a get out of jail free card and I'm all for her downfall".

@BardenShaun said: "I stand by my prediction chas and cain are going to set kerry up". @Sam19Lou said: "I think Cains son Kyle shot him because AL was hurting his Dad. I think Cain is covering up for him, that is why he told Kerry it’s not what it seems. Kyle is Kerry’s Grandson so she would cover the truth for him also."

@o_tajp said: "Cain has to be covering for someone like Kyle or Aaron, more Aaron as he really does not want the affair coming out so Chas needs to stay quiet back him up". @corriedalexo said: "do emmerdale think they're going to do a big twist when they reveal it was aaron and not cain even though we've all worked it out".

@kellymew_ said: "Surely there’s got to be fingerprints on the gun that aren’t Cains or Als". @zakbrownz said: "I’m convinced Aaron is the killer".
