Emmerdale fans confused over character's 'personality transplant'

Emmerdale viewers have been left confused by a current storyline as they claim a long-standing village resident has had a "personality transplant".

Recent episodes have seen Amelia Spencer and Noah Dingle fall out over an evil plan involving Amelia's baby daughter Esther. Since Esther was born, Noah has stepped into the dad role, despite Samson Dingle being her biological father.

Samson initially wanted nothing to do with the baby, but then he spotted an opportunity to make some cash and began blackmailing Noah.

He demanded money in exchange for "staying away from her". Thursday's episode shows the fallout from Noah admitting he had paid Samson off, leaving the rest of the Dingles disgusted with Samson.

To make matters worse, having been told to leave of the Dingle home, Samson began throwing insults at Vinny Dingle, calling the rest of the family "losers" and bragging about how he was going to get his own place.

As Vinny begged him to make amends while he has the chance, Samson told him to get stuffed. And later, he told Lydia he had lied and had absolutely no interest in his daughter.

The interaction prompted many watching at home to make similar comments.

Taking to Twitter, Matthew said: "Not more of Samson's horrible nasty attitude. Please get his old personality back, the person he's changed into stinks". Steve said: "Samson's recent personality transplant is quite spectacular".

Ryan said: "The way Samson speaks to his dad is vile", and Lisa said: "Remember when Samson was a lovely little boy?"

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and ITVX
