Emmerdale fans at their "wits end" with Jacob and Maya storyline

Emmerdale fans complained they are at their "wits end" with the Jacob and Maya storyline.

Maya has been arrested for grooming Jacob, but he is standing by her, telling his dad and Leyla that he loves her and will wait for her.

Tonight's episode saw Leyla and David suggest to Jacob that he write to the exam board and explain what had happened to him, in a bid to boost his GCSE grades as he missed several exams while he was on the run with his former teacher.

But Jacob flew into a rage, slamming his parents and accusing his dad of "having no ability to love."

He stormed out, leaving David and Leyla questioning what had happened to "our sweet little boy."

But at the end of the episode Maya made a shocking return to the village, as she appeared in the last few seconds of the show.

Despite Jacob being the victim, Emmerdale fans found it hard to sympathise with him, asking writers to hurry up and make him see the light.

The storyline has already being long running and viewers took to social media tonight to question when it would ever be over.

One said: "Jacob has got no manners, so irritating and annoying cant be bothered to put up with him."

Another said: "Back to Emmerdale mardy Jacob and he getting on my wits at the moment."

A third said: "As I was saying Jacob needs to learn some manors and see that the teacher was a grown women and she like kids or is he that stupid #emmerdale can the writers wake him up please."

And a fourth added: "Can the Maya/Jacob storyline end please? Just stick Maya in jail. Sick of seeing angry Jacob every episode. "
