Emmerdale viewers were astonished when Nicola and Jimmy came to blows after he compared her knickers to a tin of fish.
The couple, who are staying in Laurel's home so Nicola's father can shield at their house, were clearing out the cupboards to help them pass the time while in lockdown together.
"The thought of someone else going through my cupboards, judging," said Nicola, "It's like inviting someone to go through my knicker drawer.
"Except nobody would ever take you up on that invitation," quipped Jimmy.
Nicola pressed him as to what he meant, and he replied: "That drawer, it's seen a few changes over the years hasn't it?"
As Nicola egged him on, he added: "You'll probably laugh, but that drawer, once it was like a luxury hamper stuffed full of goodies, smoked salmon, posh meats and chocolates.
"Now... It's more like, well, a tin of sardines."
"Are you comparing my underwear with a tin of sardines?" replied a fuming Nicola.
Jimmy replied hastily: "No not all of it, i don't mean anything by it, priorities change."
Nicola raged: "No Jimmy, bodies change.
"Best before childbirth. Because when you do experience childbirth that luxury hamper you loved so much, it got the luxury knocked out of it!"

Another wrote: "Poor Nicola, Jimmy's totally irritating the hell outta her already & it's still only Day 4 of the lockdown #Emmerdale ".

"Best not to compare womens undies to either salmon or sardines. #emmerdale " warned a fourth.
