Emmerdale newcomer Mark Womack has hinted at further drama to come between his character DI Malone and village favourite Cain Dingle.
The actor recently made his debut on the ITV soap, immediately ruffling feathers.
Causing trouble for Cain and Will Taylor, the corrupt officer has issued threats and dragged them back into the criminal world.
Next week, spoilers have confirmed Malone will hassle Cain once more, while also finding a new target in Billy Fletcher - who is dating Will's daughter Dawn.
Actor Mark has now teased a twist could be on the cards for one character, while also hinting at an upcoming exit.
Speaking about the role on Lorraine on Wednesday, the actor spoke in past tense suggesting he might not be on the show for much longer - while it could of course be a red herring.
He told host Lorraine Kelly of the role: "It was a really good part."
Mark also hinted at a major twist that could see the corrupt detective and Cain team up together, before remaining coy over spoilers.
Asked if they might work together, he said: "That would be interesting wouldn't it, I'm not gonna give anything away.
"It would be great but I'm not sure that’ll happen just yet."
He added: "There are a lot of fun and games before that, there’s a lot of juicy stuff to come, I can promise you that.”
Mark also shared his wife Samantha Womack's advice for his new role, after her own time in soap land.
Sam played Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders before being killed off in 2017.
He revealed: "She just takes the mickey out of me, cos I’m terrible at learning lines.
"She said, 'Learn the lines, don’t knock anything over, just get on with it’."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
