Emmerdale exit confirmed for fan favourite as they bid goodbye to family in sad storyline

Emmerdale have confirmed how Naomi Walters' will leave the ITV soap - and it's a sad storyline.

Sources claimed earlier this year that Naomi actress Karene Peter had decided to quit her role on the popular soap and next week the storyline will unravel as Naomi decides to quit her job at the infamous Woolpack pub, writes The Mirror.

In scenes which are set to be on our screens next week, Victor is sad to see Naomi struggling with money. He tells her to speak to Vinny and see if she can get any money from him. He soon lends her some money, with Naomi taken aback by the gesture.

Naomi is happy, however, Victor urges her to enjoy the money rather than use it to pay off her debts. She then thinks about whether she should just splurge the money rather than use it for what she really needs to.

However, later she humiliated as she is accused of giving Victor free pints and she decides to quit her job and storms out of the pub.

Naomi is convinced to live her life by grandfather Victor (ITV)

Naomi tells Victor that she is tempted by his suggestion of spending the money and contemplates leaving the village and her family, Charles and Manpreet in a bid to live her life exactly how she wants to.

Karene previously spoke highly of her colleagues Kevin Mathurin and Emile John, who play her father and brother respectively.

She said: "Being on Emmerdale doesn't feel like work anyway, but Kevin makes it not feel like work at all. We get on very well – he's looked after me since the start and we have a genuine friendship."

"It's the same with Eddie, we get on like a house on fire. It feels as though we've known each other forever."

She arrived in the soap wrapped up in a huge storyline after her friends attacked Nicola King.

Speaking of the court scenes, Karene revealed: "It felt very real. It was very authentic and visceral watching it all unfold and being cross examined. The story needed to be told and Nicola deserved to be vindicated, so it's great that there is an end in sight.

"It's been so fun and intricate to get into the bones of. There are complexities surrounding all the decisions and emotions Naomi has had to make and go through. It's been a challenge to play and bring that all to life."

Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
