Emmerdale double exit as emotional goodbye leaves character in tears

Emmerdale has confirmed a double exit for Chloe Harris and her baby Reuben.

Chloe (Jessie Elland) had a one night stand with Charity's now-husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), which resulted in the arrival of baby Reuben. She gave birth on Charity and Mack's wedding day, but Charity is yet to know that Mack is the baby's dad.

On tonight's episode of the soap, in emotional scenes, Chloe and Mack met up alone where she told him of her plans to move to Scotland as she felt it wasn't fair for her baby to always be around him and for her to have to see him.

Mack was emotional as he took the baby in his arms and said a heartbreaking goodbye to his son. Chloe was emotional too, quickly stopping him from speaking and taking the baby off him. He walked off, his tears evident as he realised what he was losing.

Emma Atkins previously teased to The Mirror that another big twist was in store: "I think in the future we have been told that towards the end of the year, there is something we are not allowed to know yet.

"Another triangle I believe, unfinished business perhaps, but the three of us aren't being told anything."

On the future for the couple, she added: "I have loved working with this guy and Jessie [Elland] and I don't think that's gonna end anytime soon, because they're so well connected. Okay, maybe the relationship is in tatters at the moment but the beauty of soap is you have always got to bump into those people because you are in the same village.

"Unless someone leaves or moves out or kills somebody which hopefully is not going to happen to us guys, it will be fine and we will continue in our way somehow, there will be the aftermath. There's always the aftermath."

Mackenzie "goes off the rails" after Charity finds out that he is Reuben's father.

Lawrence added to The Mirror of what's to come: "He does go off the rails a little bit. With having this great life he's built and then having to deal with the tragedy of potentially losing his son, he does go off the rails a bit. And he will have moments of him getting up to no good again, but how far he goes I don't know. There's definitely stuff coming."
