Emmerdale fans fear Manpreet Sharma could die after she catches Alex committing a crime next week.
Fans had been speculating why Alex had returned to the village following his prison stint, and his apparent sudden interest in Naomi following her split from Nate. Whilst Naomi insisted he was interested in her, Charles seemed less sure he didn't have another motive.
Next week on the ITV soap, Alex's true intentions are revealed and he seems to be back to his usual tricks as his ears prick up when he hears Manpreet on the phone talking about the surgery getting a new drug delivery.
On the phone himself, he struggles to keep his cool with a mystery caller, whilst Naomi and Charles are completely unaware of his other motives and they feel optimistic when he says he has a job interview.
Alex is later seen handing cash to a mystery woman whilst Belle is concerned about whether she should tell Naomi about what Alex was actually doing. Naomi is in disbelief, and when she confronts him about his non-existent job interview, he promises he will explain everything. Soon, it's revealed that he has an innocent explanation for meeting the mystery woman.
His true motives are later exposed when he meets up with Clare - who he said he had been helping financially after meeting her son's dad in prison - and it's confirmed he is just interested in robbing the surgery and isn't interested in Naomi.
The next day, Liam and Manpreet have to grapple with the difficulties of closing the surgery after the electrics were vandalised whilst Alex makes sure to steal the surgery keys. He lets himself into the surgery with a crowbar as he searches for the drugs.
Meanwhile, Manpreet is confused when she finds the front door open and heads for her office, unaware Alex is inside and is posed with the crowbar ready to attack, with Manpreet seemingly finding herself at risk.
Will Alex attack her? And are fans right in thinking this could see the end of the much loved village GP?
