Emmerdale death, Corrie fire and EastEnders wedding twist - soap highlights for week ahead

There are some key moments on all of the soaps next week, with Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders each bringing a mix of drama, joy and sadness.

Emmerdale will air the heartbreaking death of fan favourite Faith Dingle next Thursday, as her loved ones say their final goodbyes.

Elsewhere, and on Coronation Street there's panic as a house fire leaves one character being rushed to hospital - and another feeling guilty.

Finally on EastEnders, Alfie Moon finds a huge secret being exposed, and he's got a lot of explaining to do. Here's a look at the week ahead in soap land...

EastEnders wedding bombshell

Alfie Moon reveals all on his secret bride-to-be next week (BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron)

Alfie Moon reveals all on his secret bride-to-be next week, just days before his wedding is due to take place.

There has been no clue as to Alfie being engaged since his return recently, and instead he's been trying to win back ex Kat Slater - trying to stop her from marrying Phil Mitchell.

So when a mystery young woman arrives in Walford and informs Alfie he is getting married in the morning, both he and Kat are speechless.

News of his nuptials leave Kat stunned that she's been lied too, and Alfie has a lot of explaining to do.

Alfie quickly reveals that the woman in question is not his mystery fiancée, but he is set to marry another woman.

As Kat fumes at Alfie for lying to her, shocked he would hide something so huge, he agrees to let her meet his real fiancée as he explains everything the best way he can.

Corrie fire horror

Coronation Street is lining up worrying scenes next week (ITV)

Coronation Street is lining up worrying scenes next week, as new spoilers confirm a fire leaves one character in danger.

Aaron Sandford is alarmed to discover his father has been rushed to hospital after his house goes up in flames.

The teenager, who is dating Summer Spellman, has been distant with Eric since he revealed how his alcoholic father was violent towards him.

Refusing to see him, Aaron is relieved next week when Billy and Todd agree to visit Eric to check on him so that he doesn't have to.

Aaron is bombarded with angry text messages from his dad who lashes out at him.

Summer fears what Eric will do to Aaron if he returns home, and soon Billy and Todd return from their visit and they report back that he was drunk and angry.

This stops Aaron from going to see him - only for disaster to strike.

Emmerdale death heartache

Emmerdale spoilers have revealed Faith Dingle dies next week (ITV)

Emmerdale spoilers have revealed Faith Dingle dies next week, and they have revealed emotional details about her final moments.

The character recently asked her daughter-in-law Moira Dingle to be with her when the time came, as she revealed plans to take her own life.

Faith is battling cancer, and her health has deteriorated in recent weeks with the cancer having spread.

Her difficult decision comes after she shared her concerns that as her cancer worsens, she fears could be in pain, become unable to communicate, and lose control of who she is - despite the best efforts of palliative care.

Now, new spoilers have confirmed when she will die as she passes away in scenes next week leaving her family devastated.

But despite her talks with Moira, it's revealed Faith decides to end her days alone without anywhere there - while her plan is soon rumbled by Cain, but it's too late to save her.

Devastated, Cain tries to keep her comfortable as she drifts closer towards death and soon she takes her final breath.

Cain is inconsolable as he realises his mother is gone, and soon Faith’s family and friends are left heartbroken by the news of her death.
