Emmerdale viewers are sounding the alarm over the fate of fan-favourite Mackenzie Boyd, after a cryptic comment in a recent episode sparked widespread speculation that the character may be the next to be killed off, leaving Moira Dingle devastated.
Introduced in 2020, Mackenzie, played by Lawrence Rob,b quickly became a beloved figure in the village, known for his complex relationships and involvement in high-stakes storylines. As the brother of Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb), his family connections and emotional arcs have made him a central character.
Currently, Mackenzie is on a mission to expose John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), the army medic fiancé of his best friend Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller). Viewers know that John is hiding a deadly secret: he was responsible for the death of Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter), and may be suffering from hero syndrome, also known as saviour complex — a psychological condition that drives individuals to create crises in order to solve them and appear heroic.
The red flags around John began waving when Mack discovered he had lied about a former army colleague, Aidan Moore. Though John claimed Aidan had died, Mack found out Aidan was in fact alive but in a coma. During a casual conversation about Aaron’s upcoming stag do, Mack joked, “Oh, the enthusiasm — kill me now,” after Aaron showed little interest in the paintballing plans. Though clearly intended as a throwaway comment, it immediately raised alarm bells for fans.
