Emmerdale has confirmed that Joe- Warren Plant will return to his role as Jacob Gallagher after taking a six month career break.
The 19-year-old ITV soap star, who plays the teenage son of David Metcalfe, took a career break earlier this year to appear in Dancing on Ice.
His on-screen character Jacob left the village to spend time with his mum, Alicia, in Portugal.
But in the next few weeks, Jacob will make a shock reappearance in the village as the actor's break comes to an end.

Emmerdale producers have been dropping hints about a possible return as Jacob has been mentioned a few times over the past few weeks in relation to him neglecting his friendship with Leanne Cavanagh.
Leanne is delighted by her friend's return but not everyone is so thrilled.
Jacob's dad's new girlfriend Meena Jutla is not so happy about his return to the village, leading to Jacob being in danger at the hands of the deranged nurse.
Viewers have recently had a glimpse at Meena's unhinged antics after she pretended to be Ethan Anderson’s long-lost mother in a scheme to split her sister’s marriage up.

It wouldn't be the first time Jacob has been in danger at the hands of his father's lover's after being abused by paedophile Maya.
Summer spoilers released by the soap tease: “Manipulative Meena, played by Paige Sandhu, continues to meddle in Jacob and David’s lives.
“When Jacob, played by Joe Warren Plant, scuppers her plans to move in with David, (Matthew Wolfenden), how far will she go to get what she wants?”
Upcoming scenes will see Jacob return for his other mum Leyla Harding’s wedding to Leanna’s dad Liam.
However, things will soon deteriorate when Liam’s ex Bernice Blackstock dramatically turns up dressed in her own wedding dress from her failed wedding to Liam.
