Emmerdale has confirmed Jamie Tate will leave the soap permanently.
Last month, Jamie, played by Alexander Lincoln, crashed his car into a lake outside of the village.
Although his body was never discovered, everyone has presumed he died.
The police cast doubt on whether Jamie would be able to survive the incident in an early scene, but his mum Kim Tate has refused to give up on the hope he was alive.

But at the end of Thursday's episode saw Jamie return from the dead and reunite with his young daughter Millie after she chose to go and live with Andrea's mother Hazel.
Jamie said to Hazel: "I can't quite believe it. We did it. It's finally over. I never have to step foot in that hell-hole of a house again. She can stay in there and rot, all on her own."
Emmerdale has confirmed Jamie will not be returning to the soap.
An Emmerdale spokesperson told Digital Spy : "Although there are no current plans for the character of Jamie Tate to return to Emmerdale, the audience now has the proof Jamie Tate is still alive and at large."
