Emmerdale has confirmed that Andrea Tate died in the maze fire during Super Soap Week.
The ITV soap concluded its eventful week with the revelation that Andrea had succumbed to the flames of the maze fire.
Unbeknownst to many, the fire in the maze began after a flare gun was fired during a struggle between Andrea and evil serial killer Meena Jutla.
After Andrea witnessed Meena attempt to drown her love rival Victoria Sugden, Meena chased and brutally beat Andrea until she was in a critical condition.
Abandoning Andrea to the fire, Meena was rescued from the maze but despite being briefly conscious and using a walkie-talkie to call for help in vain, Andrea fell unconscious.

On Friday, police confirmed to both Meena and Andrea’s former mother-in-law Kim Tate that Andrea’s body had likely been found.
Later in the episode, Andrea’s body was formally identified and the rest of the village was devastated to discover what had happened.
As Wendy Posner and Gabby Thomas commented on Millie Tate having lost both of her parents, Millie’s grandmother Kim remained adamant in her defiant belief that Jamie was still alive and Millie was not an orphan.
Meanwhile, Meena feigned total ignorance regarding Andrea’s fate and why she was alone in the maze when she spoke with both police and her sister Manpreet Sharma who comforted her true love and Andrea’s boyfriend, Charles Anderson.
Yet, in a shock twist, the conclusion to the episode revealed that Meena’s villainy may yet be exposed.
While Meena delivered her spiel to Manpreet about the frustration of never knowing what really happened to Andrea, the episode cut to the offices of the HOP.
HOP employees Ben Tucker and Billy Hopwood discussed what happened and it became clear that Ben was reviewing camera footage from the outdoor pursuit helmets that were worn on that fateful day.
Much of the footage was of swirling water rapids from when Victoria, David Metcalfe, Charles and Manpreet fell into the river when the bridge collapsed.
Ben hoped to find answers by reviewing it but both were doubtful it would prove fruitful.
As Ben left the desk to join Billy in speaking to the police, the footage on the screen kept playing and clearly showed Meena trying to drown Victoria.
With evidence of what Meena did out there, will it prove her undoing?
*Emmerdale airs on weekdays at 7pm on ITV, with previous episodes available on ITV Hub.
