Emmerdale boss teases major Belle and Jamie twist as 'not all is as it seems'

Emmerdale saw a major feud reignite between the Dingles and the Tates last month, with one huge secret still to be exposed.

Jamie Tate was the hit-and-run driver who almost killed Cain Dingle's wife Moira, but he has kept quiet about it.

He only told his mum Kim and ex-wife Andrea at first, before confiding in new lover Belle - a Dingle.

Shockingly she kept quiet and stood by her man, even choosing him over her family despite them not wanting her to be with Jamie.

A conflicted Belle even told Cain's son Nate about the crash, before helping Jamie to bribe him to stay quiet, which he has agreed to.

Now though, with Belle moving into Jamie's home and isolated from her family, fans fear she will be manipulated and possibly the victim of abuse from her lover.

Fans fear a coercive control storyline is coming up, and boss Jane Hudson has now revealed things will get "worse" for the character in the long run.

Not only that, she hinted at a major twist in the storyline that could change everything.

She said: "With the Belle and Jamie saga, well part one of it, Belle and Jamie, is coming to a head very, very soon.

"There will be a twist in there."

"There is a lot more to come from that story, and not all is as it seems."

What the twist entails is yet to be revealed, but viewers should learn more in the coming weeks.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode on Thursdays at 8pm.
