But according to an Emmerdale boss, there's more to come as the soap celebrates its 50th birthday.
Executive Producer Jane Hudson told OK: "Our 50th birthday is coming up at the end of the year on October 16.
"We're going to be having a golden month of celebration to mark our 50th and there are going to be mind-blowing stunts, there are going to be moments of heartbreak and secrets and lies will be revealed."
Jane added: "It really is going to be the gift that keeps on giving and the party that no one is going to want to end."
Jane detailed plans for the run-up to the show's 50th and said: "Our 2022 is very much going to be building our stories for that golden month of celebrations."
She also promised that this year will be the "biggest year" Emmerdale has ever had and teased that they "already [have] great stuff planned for the build-up."
She added: "There may be a wedding in the summer. We'll have to wait and see, but you might not guess who that is right now.
"Also, some really big things are going to happen within families that are going to test their strengths as couples and as parents.
"So there's a lot in store. We might see some old faces returning. We're not sure yet. We're still working on that. But there's a lot coming up."
Jane said: "Our goal is to really celebrate Emmerdale turning 50."
