Suspicion surrounding Dr Cavanagh's dead wife has hit an all time high for Bernice Blackstock as she tries to investigate further tonight on Emmerdale.
And it looks like viewers might discover what really happened to her after Bernice was given food for thought by Nicola.
Last night, Nicola pointed out that she thought Liam was hiding something when he was talking about his dead wife Lara, who is also the mother of daughter Leanna.
While Bernice was doing Brenda's nails in the salon, the pair began discussing Lisa Dingle's funeral.
Liam chipped in, saying: "It's Zak I really feel sorry for.
"I've been in his position. After Lara died... when you're the man, everyone's expecting you to be strong. Well, I did anyway. You just want to crawl off and die somewhere yourself."
He then left, but his words stayed with Bernice as she pointed out to Brenda that it was one of the few times he had spoken about Lara.
Later, while she and Liam were in the cafe, Bernice told him that he never spoke about his wife.
Liam stuttered, insisting: "Not never..."
"Only in extreme circumstances," Bernice said. "Like when I'm in a hospital bed with dodgy fillers.
"Look," he replied. "My life with Lara... is in the past. I moved here to make a new start. Admittedly that was with Maya so it didn't go so well. It's just not something I want to spend time discussing."
What is he hiding that he doesn't want to tell Bernice about?
