As Emmerdale viewers will know, a major month of twists and turns are coming to mark the ITV soap’s major milestone.
We’ve previously brought you news from Emmerdale boss Jane Hudson promising a return of some former favourites while there’s rumours of a birth in the village.
And now it has been announced that a documentary looking back on the soap's most memorable births, deaths, arrivals, returns and exits will also air to mark the occasion.

ITV will air the one-off documentary, reflecting and celebrating the last 50 years, the TV special will document how a sleepy daytime afternoon serial about rural folk became the award-winning, hard-hitting drama that we know and love today.
Producers have been digging in the archives to unearth some of the popular soaps best bits from classic Emmerdale clips and rarely-seen gems and those moment's we've forgotten all about.
Past and present cast members will take part in the documentary as they take a trip down memory lane and reflect on how far their characters have come.
An ITV spokesperson said: "This milestone celebratory tribute will also recall some of the standout 74 weddings, 43 births and 105 deaths in the show since 1972, while reminiscing over some of the show’s most popular family dynasties including the Sugdens, the Tates and the Dingles.
‘"long the way, we’ll discover the original ambitions of Emmerdale Farm’s creator – the playwright Kevin Laffan, how the TV critics and viewers responded to the show and its early depiction of rural life, and ultimately how it has transformed to reflect the changing lives and appetites of its loyal audience."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV.
