Emmerdale and Coronation Street to air this Sunday amid dark death storylines

Football might have dominated TV this week, but soap fans will be given a pleasant surprise on Sunday as Emmerdale and Coronation Street air at the weekend.

Viewers have been left incredibly frustrated this week, with episodes cancelled for the Euros and moved to different days.

While all of the week's episodes are now being released every Monday on ITV Hub, the traditionalists among us may want to watch them when they're on TV.

And despite all of the soaps being cancelled on Friday - boo - there will be an extra helping of Emmerdale and Coronation Street airing at 7.30pm and 8pm, respectively.

Afterwards at 9pm, Piers Morgan's Life Stories is back as the combative host sits down with Joan Collins to celebrate 70 years in the film industry.

It comes ahead of an explosive week for Emmerdale next week as Kim Tate appears to be murdered as her lifeless body is zipped up in a body bag.

Jamie ends up showing Kim the photos he has taken, revealing the diazepam in Will's bag, leaving her utterly shaken and heartbroken to hear that he has been the one poisoning her.

Kim goes onto confront Will, but he remains cagey about answering the question about why he has diazepam.

She tries to press him on the reason why and Will insists that they are just for his nerves, but she is in no way convinced.

Kim sets upon a plan to have Will caught on camera spiking her drink and tells Jamie what she is planning.

The next day, Will calls in at Home Farm and he appears to walk straight into Kim's trap, but later, Jamie is alarmed when he receives a call and rushes back to Home Farm.

He's left horrified when he arrives back home to find Will being arrested and Kim's body being zipped up in a body bag...

Is she really dead?

Meanwhile, on Coronation Street, Tyrone is told that his abusive ex Kirsty Soames, the mother of his daughter Ruby, has died.

Natalie Gumede's character left in 2013, after being exposed for physically and mentally abusing her former partner Tyrone.
