Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars turn out for Adam Thomas' restaurant launch

Stars from ITV's soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale attended the launch of former co-star Adam Thomas' new pop-up restaurant.

The actor received the support of fellow cast mates from Emmerdale, Coronation Street and Waterloo Road to celebrate the launch of his restaurant, The Spinn's new summer residency at Box on the Docks at MediaCityUK.

As Manchester Evening News reports, the bash developed in to an Emmerdale reunion as he was joined by former Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher, Isabel Hodgins who plays Kelvin's on-screen sister Victoria Sugden - and the actor who plays Aaron Dingle, Danny Miller, who attended with fiancee Steph Jones.

Many stars from the Coronation Street cast also turned up to show their support for the new pop-up restaurant including soap favourites Alan Halsall and Ruxandra Porojnicu, who play on-screen lovebirds Tyrone Dobbs and Alina Pop.

Lucy Fallon, who played Bethany Platt, was joined by Ellie Leach, who plays Faye Windass, with a group of friends who were enjoying a girls' night out at the party.

There was such a medley of soap stars there that it even left Emmerdale's Chris Bisson left wondering whether he should sit with his current or former cast mates at the Corrie table.

The actor who now plays Jai Sharma laughed: "You've got Corrie sitting on one side and Emmerdale on the other - I'm not sure which side to join!"

Adam also got to enjoy a Waterloo Road reunion with current Hollyoaks star, Chelsee Healey.

Chelsee attended the event with her best friend, singer Michelle McKenna - and they got to have a good chat with Adam's twin brother, former Love Island star Scott Thomas.

Scott was in the papers this week as rumours grew that he could be making a return to Love Island for the 2021 series - and Michelle and Chelsee could not resist the opportunity to have a joke with him about it.

Scott said: "I have said it would be great to get a Love Island all-stars series with loads of the old contestants together, I'd love to be a part of that."

Scott did reveal that he is jetting off to the Balearics this week which may further add fuel to the flames - but he insisted that this was just for a holiday with his mum.

The new "Spinn off" pop-up restaurant is spread out across the outdoor park area Box on the Docks at MediaCityUK, just across the quays from ITV's main studios where Corrie is filmed.

Adam launched The Spinn restaurant concept in Gatley in 2019 with his friend from school, Scott Graham.

The Spinn pop-up will sell their burger menu, which features the famous "BURN-ham" burger - a nod to Liverpool native, Andy Burnham, who is now Greater Manchester mayor.

Their new pop-up restaurant is located in a purpose built double-height glass-fronted shipping container at MediaCity so passers-by can see the chefs in action, whilst diners will be seated within 15 of Box on the Docks’ art-adorned greenhouses and sheds.

Adam spoke of his excitement at his new project.

He said: "This is what our residency is all about – creating a fun vibe, soaking up the atmosphere while enjoying amazing burgers with a twist and drinks.

The Spinn at Box on the Docks will run until 8th August, initially opening Thursdays to Sundays before extending to seven days.
