Emmerdale and Coronation Street CANCELLED - and fans are furious

Soap fans need to brace themselves for a night of severe upset and emotional drama - as Emmerdale and Coronation Street have BOTH been cancelled to make way for football coverage.

Fans gagging to see what the latest news from the Dingles is, or to hear if Sally Webster has survived being crushed by a factory roof won’t have any answers tonight as ITV unceremoniously axed the favourite shows in favour of live sport.

The usual schedule of Monday a night dosage of Emmerdale followed by a trip to the cobbles of Corrie has been disrupted by ongoing European Cup 2020 qualifier action.

Tea cups might be at risk of being smashed in rage and frustration as those hoping to catch a glimpse of the latest Dales action will instead be met by Montenegro facing off against England.

Fans of ITV’s soaps are already up in arms about the cancellation - starting the week on a terrible foot.

“Disgusted about the soaps being cancelled tonight #CoronationStreet,” one fan raged on Twitter - realising the shows had been put on hold to make way for sport.

Fury was reaching dangerous highs hours before the football was even due to begin.

“Yet again, FOOTBALL takes presidence over Emmerdale,” one fan screamed on Twitter.

Dingle drama will have to wait - as Emmerdale has been axed to make way for Euro Cup coverage (ITV)

“When will ITV get a separate Sports channel??????? It really isn't fair, and I dont pay my TV Licence, to watch Sport! Its disgusting,” they added.

And another exclaimed: “@ITV can u stop showing the football and spoiling my soap night. There's itv3 and 4 u can use!!!! Thank you.”

Normal service is due to resume on Tuesday - when both Corrie and Emmerdale will air at their usual times.
