Emmerdale and Byker Grove star Chelsea Halfpenny announces pregnancy with adorable bump photo

Gateshead-born Chelsea Halfpenny yesterday announced that she's expecting a child with her fiancé James Baxter - breaking the news on social media in cute fashion.

The 31-year-old actress is best known for her roles as Amy Wyatt on Emmerdale between 2010 to 2013, Alicia Munroe on Casualty and Lucy Summerbee in cult classic Byker Grove.

And this week she took to Instagram to share a sweet snap of herself with followers online, sporting her growing baby bump.

Taking to social media, she wrote: "As if renovating a house wasn't enough, we've decided to grow a baby at the same time! Officially MENTAL. But we are so close to meeting our new little best mate".

James, 32, also went on to share the same photo on the stories section of his Insta account alongside heart emojis. Also an actor, he's best known for his lead role as head teacher Joe Casey in the revival of Waterloo Road.

And the couple, who became engaged in 2021 were quickly congratulated by a number of friends and followers alike, storming the comments section to bid their warm wishes. Rebecca Ryan, wrote: "So so so happy for you you look amazing xx," while Danielle Harold, added: "Congratulations."

Natalie Ann Jamieson added a congratulations of her own, while Laura Norton, went on: "I can’t."

Bonnie Langford, said: "Congratulations, Chelsea! So happy for you xx," while Rachel Leskovac, penned: "Big love to you brilliant humans. That’s gonna be one very lucky baby."

As well as her TV acting career, Chelsea May well be recognised by fans of UK theatre for her appearances in the West Ends 9 to 5 and a UK tour of Waitress as of recent.

Chelsea may be recognised by theatre fans for having appeared in the West End production of 9 to 5: The Musical and more recently starring in the UK tour of Waitress. James on the other hand is also credited for his work with Emmerdale as Jake Doland, a stint with Red Dwarf and North East comedy, Hebburn.
