Emmerdale airing early tonight as double episode is cancelled for football

Emmerdale is airing a little earlier tonight as the soap is moved to make way for - you guessed it - football.

Instead of starting at its usual time of 7pm, drama in the Dales will kick off at the earlier time of 6.45pm.

Sadly, there also won't be a second helping this evening as an extra episode already aired on Tuesday evening.

The episodes have been moved to make way for the the first round of World Cup 2022 qualifying matches, with England gearing up to play San Marino.

Tonight, Aaron Dingle is forced to face the music after Mackenzie scarpered to let him deal with the police quizzing him about the van full of stolen goods.

Mack had promised Aaron that he would help find Connor, the man who kidnapped Paul, and believe he might know someone about Vinny's attacker.

But instead, Mack ended up dragging Aaron into a dodgy deal after managing to convince him to borrow one of Jimmy's vans.

After loading up some dodgy TV's into the van, a police car pulled up and Mack abruptly raced off, leaving Aaron to deal with the fallout.

Will Aaron get into trouble with the police? (ITV)

Next week, however, it's an explosive week on Emmerdale as a flashforward sees three different villagers in hospital beds.

In the following days, viewers will get a glimpse at who the occupants of the beds are - with one villager confirmed to die by the end of the week.

Aaron and Liv will finally discover the truth about the abuse Vinny has suffered at the hands of dad Paul.

But with Mandy's wedding to Paul approaching, will Vinny be able to tell his mum the truth about his father? And how will Mandy react?

*Emmerdale airs tonight at 6.46pm on ITV
