CenturyLink is one of the Broncos’ sponsors and the technology company teamed up with wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders earlier this year for a giveaway on Twitter.
The giveaway includes tickets to the team’s away game against the Vikings in Week 11. There’s just one problem: Sanders probably won’t be at that game.
Sanders’ most recent sponsored tweet for the giveaway was posted Monday amid speculation that the receiver is on the trade block.
Denver is seeking a second- or third-round draft pick in exchange for Sanders before the NFL’s trade deadline (Oct. 29). The team’s first game after the trade deadline is against the Browns in Week 9.
The list of teams that could use more help at receiver includes the Panthers, Patriots, Eagles and 49ers so there will likely be a market for Sanders.
Sanders, 32, is scheduled to become a free agent in 2020 so trading him now would make sense for the Broncos. Sanders has caught 28 touchdown passes during his time in Denver and helped the team win Super Bowl 50 in 2016.
