The 49ers’ second play of Sunday’s game against the Panthers was a four-yard out to new wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo later finished that 11-play, 75-yard opening series with a strike to Sanders from four yards out.
San Francisco entered the game among the NFL’s worst red zone teams. Finding a score there with their new receiver is a good sign for the offense long-term.
