Emmanuel Sanders says he will have ‘one last ride’ with Broncos

Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders has one year remaining on his contract and he’s set to have a salary cap hit of $12,937,500 this season. After coach Vic Fangio said Wednesday that Sanders will have a big role in the team’s offense, it appears that the receiver’s roster spot is safe.

Sanders reacted to Fangio’s comments on Twitter, tweeting that he’s going to have “one last ride” with the team in 2019.

“Emmanuel’s a hell of a player, been a highly productive receiver in the league for a long time,” Fangio said at the NFL combine. “He was having an excellent year last year with the Broncos. We expect him to be back full speed.”

Sanders is 31 years old and coming off a torn Achilles but he believes he will be healthy in time for Week 1. The receiver has said he is not willing to restructure his contract and the team has not asked him to do so. Sanders will become an unrestricted free agent in 2020.
