Emmanuel Adebayor reveals how he and former Nottingham Forest striker Nicklas Bendtner once came to blows at Arsenal

Emmanuel Adebayor has spoken out about the time he had a fight with former Nottingham Forest striker Nicklas Bendtner.

The pair were team-mates at Arsenal after Adebayor's move to the Emirates Stadium from Metz in 2006.

Bendtner was coming through the ranks at London Colney when the Togo international joined Arsene Wenger's side, with the Dane going on to play for Birmingham City, Sunderland, Juventus and Wolfsburg before joining the Reds in September 2016 .

He played 15 matches for Forest , scoring two goals before departing for Rosenborg the following March.

West Brom reignite interest in League One star linked with Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Middlesbrough

And Adebayor, in an interview with the Daily Mail , revealed how the controversial Dane was ruffling feathers from the very beginning of a colourful career that has led to him being dubbed a 'Lord' by his fans.

"I'm a free guy, I come to every club, walk into the changing room and sing," Adebayor said.

"I danced with Thierry Henry and had huge respect for Dennis Bergkamp. But at Arsenal, when you walk into the dressing room, there is a shoe rack.

"You take off your trainers and wear the club sandals into the dressing room. Bendtner walked in with his own shoes twice. I said: 'Bendtner, there is a law here and nobody is above it.'

"He was younger than me and barely playing.

"We are bigger than you but nobody else walks in with Prada, Gucci... He said 'I don't care'. I said 'Don't do it again'. The next day, he did the same and we jumped into a fight."
