Emma Willis sends body positive message with non-airbrushed magazine cover

TV presenter Emma Willis has sent out a body positive message to women and girls – by posing for a magazine cover with non-airbrushed pictures.

The Voice host, who has three children – Isabelle, 10, Ace, seven and Trixie, three – with her husband, Busted’s Matt Willis, says she wanted the images to be a “genuine reflection” of her.

Emma, who is fronting the Project Body Love campaign for Women’s Health magazine, added that she was shocked to discover 80 per cent of 10-year-old girls have been on a diet.

She said: “That is shocking. I think back to when I was 10 and I was just playing in the mud. Not watching other people and thinking about diets.”

The campaign is designed to help more women feel comfortable in their own skins.

Emma told the magazine that being a mum changed the way she talked about body issues.

She said: “I tell my children they’re beautiful but that’s more about their character than the way they look.

“I definitely don’t mention things that might worry me about my own body in front of them.”

Emma says she is careful to avoid posting unrealistic or heavily doctored images online.

She added: “You have to be honest. Anything that I put on social media, I want to be a genuine reflection of me and not some sort of ideal.

“We’ve got to look after each other and the future generations. They’re the ones that I worry about, having grown up with
social media.”

The former model, 43, keeps fit by doing reformer pilates, which uses a machine supervised by an instructor.

She said: “I love it. I feel like I actually achieve something. I’m doing it to live, rather than to fit into a pretty dress.

“The older I’ve got, the better my relationship with my body has become, and that’s because of my mindset.”
