Emma Willis has declared she's raising her son Ace, eight, to be an "open-minded and inclusive individual" after a stylish snap of him wearing a pink T-shirt was praised for breaking gender boundaries.
The TV presenter, 44, has admitted she felt "overwhelmed" by the response to the picture, which showed Ace with long blonde hair, wearing a colourful cropped tee and jeans.
Emma had shared the snap on Instagram and called him her "little style icon" and she has now opened up about raising her son to be an "open-minded and inclusive individual".
Speaking during an appearance on Good Morning Britain this week, she explained: "Do you know what I was really overwhelmed actually because it's just my son in a pink top.
"And for me that's kind of normality because he loves colour, he's always had long hair.
"He's a very free and open-minded boy who is like, 'Why do I have to dress in green and blue and grey if I like pink and red and purple? Why is that not okay?'
"We're raising him as an open-minded and inclusive individual."
Emma added: "There was some negativity but that's the beauty of the block button."
The former Big Brother presenter has three kids with Busted star Matt Willis, son Ace, eight, and sisters Isabelle, 11, and Trixie, four.
After she shared the snap of Ace in his pink T-shirt, Emma was praised for letting her boy express himself.
One fan wrote: "I bet he smiles a million more time’s a day then you miserable judgey ADULTS commenting on this child! #getalife."
Emma replied with a fist-bump emoji and red heart to this comment of support.
She also responded with a love heart to a comment that noted: "Just shows how far we have to go in breaking down gender stereotypes.
"Pink is simply a colour. Hair grows. Let kids (or adults) wear whatever they want!"
