Emma Watson is 'very happy' being single - and says she is 'self-partnered'

Emma Watson has revealed she's 'very happy' being single and has even coined her own term.

While the Harry Potter actor discussed her anxiety over hitting the big milestone birthday of 30, she described herself as 'self-partnered'.

Speaking with Vogue , Emma revealed that he never believed she could be happy single.

"I never believed the whole ‘I’m happy single’...I was like, ‘This is totally spiel', she told the magazine.

"It took me a long time, but I’m very happy [being single] - I call it being self-partnered".

The now activist who rose to fame at the age of 11 echoed the worries many women face as they approach their 30s over the pressures of having a husband and children.

"I was like, ‘Why does everyone make such a big fuss about turning 30? This is not a big deal,’ cut to 29, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so stressed and anxious," she explained.

"If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out...there’s just this incredible amount of anxiety."

The new term to describe being a singleton has been both praised and mocked on social media.

Some Twitter users have regarded the term as 'cringeworthy' and 'crazy', while others have cheered her on, with one describing it as an 'absolute mood'.

Others praised her beauty as she poses for the cover of the December edition of British Vogue.

"When Emma Watson gets a boyfriend will she have a conscious uncoupling with herself?" said one Twitter user.

You can read the full interview in the December issue of British Vogue - available from November 8.

The term follows fellow actor Gwyneth Paltrow's 'conscious uncoupling' phrase used to describe her divorce from Chris Martin in 2014.
