- British tennis stars Emma Raducanu and Sonay Kartal have both pulled out of the Miami Open.
- Raducanu is still feeling the effects of a virus she picked up in early February and has opted to sit out the WTA 1000 event which gets underway on Wednesday.
- It is the latest setback for Raducanu after a stop-start opening few months of the 2026 season.
- Kartal reached the last 16 at Indian Wells but was forced to retire from her match against eventual finalist Elena Rybakina due to a back injury.
- Kartal has not recovered in time from her injury and has now confirmed her withdrawal from the Miami Open.
