Emma Faulds: Tributes to a "beautiful human being" as police confirm body found

Tributes have been paid to a "beautiful human being" after the confirmation that Emma Faulds' body has been found in a forest park.

Messages of support for Emma's family have flooded social media today following the devastating news.

It follows the seven week search for the missing Kilmarnock woman, who was last seen on April 28 in Monkton.

But police confirmed this morning that human remains had been discovered close to Glentrool in the Galloway Forest area.

Teresa Nicholls posted on Facebook: "So very sad what a dreadful thing to happen to such a beautiful human being. Thoughts are with Emma's poor family."

Nicola Rooney added: "Heartbreaking, but closure for the family! Up with the angels now Emma."

And Mazza McInally said: "I kept on sharing in the hope of Emma being found.

"This is a family’s worst nightmare and the trauma they have been through.

"To all Emma’s family and friends my condolences Take Care xx."

Police had launched a massive search operation following Emma's disappearance.

And their efforts spanned a huge area before the grim discovery was finally made in the remote beauty spot late last night.
