Emma Faulds’ pal ‘won’t grieve until she is taken home to her family’ as he takes part in candle vigil

A devastated pal of missing Emma Faulds has said he “can’t grieve and won’t until she is taken back to her family”.

Grant Butler and his partner Suzanne took part in a mass vigil across Kilmarnock last night which saw residents leave a lit candle in their window in memory of Emma, who has been missing since Sunday April 28.

But he insisted he would “never post of her being in heaven” until she is found.

As the search continues for the 39-year-old who was last seen in Monkton, Ayrshire , the community posted pictures of their candles at 7pm last night.

In a touching post on Facebook post, alongside a photo of the lit candle, Grant wrote: “Tonight Suzanne and I burnt a candle in memory of our good friend Emma Faulds.

“Until Emma is found I’ll never post of her being in heaven….. I just won’t give up hope no matter how slim it is that she may still be here.

“I’ll still do whatever it takes to find Her and bring her home to her family who are truly heartbroken that an amazing character like Emma isn’t around.

“I’m sorry but I can’t grieve and won’t until she is taken home to her family no matter what the outcome.

He added: “To think of Emma not being here makes the world a s*** place, a girl who shone brighter than any candle and who could light up the darkest of rooms with her smile and who could bring you from your sour mood to the happiest person on this planet.

“I still hold the hope that Emma will come home and see these messages of how many people there are that love her and miss her. #EmmaWillAlwaysBeHere”
