Human remains found confirmed as that of missing Kilmarnock woman Emma Faulds, police confirm

Human remains found in the Galloway Forest area have been confirmed as that of missing Kilmarnock woman Emma Faulds.

Police Scotland confirmed the news today after the gruesome discovery was made on Wednesday.

A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland can now confirm that the human remains which were discovered in the Galloway Forest area on Wednesday 12 June 2019, are that of Emma Faulds.

“Emma's family have been made aware and specialist officers are continuing to provide support to her family."

As reported on Glasgow Live, 39-year-old Emma was last seen on the evening of Sunday, April 28, prompting a nationwide search for her.

A man has been charged in connection - he made no plea or declaration when he appeared in court and was remanded in custody.
