Emirates increases Dubai services to 77 flights a week from UK airports

The world's largest airline is set to increase flights between the UK and Dubai with 77 flights a week by the end of October.

Emirates ' schedule includes six services a day from London Heathrow using the world's biggest passenger jet - the double-decker A380 - on five of the flights, with the sixth operated by a Boeing 777.

The airline will also resume services to Newcastle Airport from October 15, responding to the easing of international entry protocols and an upsurge in passenger demand.

It will step-up services to its North-eastern hub with four weekly flights, all operated by B777 aircraft. The latest additions mean Emirates will offer a total of 77 weekly flights between the UK and Dubai.

These include the six times daily London Heathrow operation; double daily A380 flights to Manchester, a ten times a week service to Birmingham, a daily service to Glasgow, and a four times a week service to Newcastle.

Responding to increasing customer demand across Europe, Emirates has also brought forward its plans to introduce extra flights and capacity to other key cities, including Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Lisbon, Madrid, Munich, Rome, and Zurich.

Richard Jewsbury, divisional vice president UK at Emirates, said: “Since the UAE moved to the UK’s ‘amber list’ we’ve seen huge demand from passengers eagerly making travel plans - whether it’s to see family and friends, for education, business, or a long-awaited holiday. We look forward to welcoming passengers back onboard an Emirates flight soon.”

Nick Jones, chief executive of Newcastle Airport, added: “We are delighted that Emirates has brought forward its return to Newcastle International Airport and the North East with four weekly flights throughout the winter starting October 15.

"A change of flight times to an evening departure will mean passengers can maximise their stay in Dubai whether on holiday or business whilst also ensuring connectivity to worldwide destinations via the Emirates network.”
