Emirates hiring cabin crew in Bristol but there are VERY strict rules about who can apply

Tax-free pay, travel discounts and free accommodation are just some of the perks of working for Dubai-based airline Emirates.

The world’s largest international airline is on the lookout for people to join its cabin crew - and it's coming to Bristol to find them.

Emirates is looking for women and men to fill the new positions and is holding a recruitment day in the city on May 24.

Cabin crew are offered benefits including a tax-free income, free high-standard shared accommodation in Dubai, free transport to and from work, medical and dental cover, and exclusive discounts on shopping and leisure activities in Dubai.

It also offers concessional travel benefits to employees’ families and friends across the airline’s six-continent network.

But there are some very strict rules about who can apply to join.

What is the criteria for joining Emirates?

There are a number of criteria that need to be filled in order to be considered.

Applicants need to be at least 21 years old at the time of joining and have an arm reach of 212cm when standing on tiptoes.

Candidates need to be a minimum height of 160cm with a "healthy" Body Mass Index (BMI), according to the Emirates website.

They are not allowed any visible tattoos while in the Emirates' cabin crew uniform - and cosmetic and bandage coverings aren’t allowed.

How to take part in the Bristol Emirates open day

The Bristol open day is taking place at 9am at the Bristol Hotel on Prince Street in the city.

Although not mandatory, candidates are encouraged to complete an online application on the Emirates Group careers website prior to attending the open day.

Applicants need to arrive at the open day with an up-to-date CV in English and a recent photograph.

They should also come prepared to spend the full day at the venue if required.

Shortlisted candidates will then be informed of timings for further assessments and interviews.

Richard Jewsbury, Divisional Vice President UK for Emirates said: “Our cabin crew are open-minded, helpful, friendly and service-oriented and that’s what we need from candidates.

“This open day is a great opportunity for people to get their career off to a flying start.

Emirates has an international team from 135 countries, including over 600 pilots and 1,500 cabin crew members from the UK.
