Eminem teases new album – on a baseball cap

Eminem has chosen to tease his next album via a baseball cap sold though his website.

This week, Exclaim reports, an "Eminem baseball tribute hat" became available in the rapper's online store. The Marshall Mathers merchandise lists the release year for every Eminem solo album, from 1996's Infinite to … something in 2013.

Earlier this summer, Eminem said he was planning to release a new album. "I'm not that far along in the process as far as like figuring out," he told radio's DJ Whoo Kid.

Eventually, Eminem said, he will take his songs to producer Dr Dre. "Dre will listen and see what he thinks I'm missing."

Last month, producer No ID said he had "sat down" with Eminem to discuss contributing to his new LP. "We agreed to get in the studio and see what we could do," he said.

50 Cent has also indicated he will appear on the new album's "first or second single".

Eminem's 2010 LP, Recovery, has sold almost 10m copies.
