Eminem’s Godzilla video pays tribute to Juice WRLD after rapper’s death

Eminem has honoured the late rapper Juice WRLD in the music video for his latest single Godzilla.

The track, from Eminem’s 11th studio album Music to be Murdered By, follows the 47-year-old rapper as he walks through a shop, trailed by two people in Godzilla outfits.

Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, is then seen fighting off a masked burglar with a rocket launcher, vomiting Lego pieces and using a chainsaw in a butchers in the video directed by 23-year-old Cole Bennett.

Godzilla then features cameos from boxing champion Mike Tyson and mentor Dr Dre, with Tyson accidentally punching the rapper in the face.

The video concludes with a tribute to rapper Juice WRLD, who died aged 21 in December after an accidental overdose, which featured a short monologue from the star.

“I hope everyone’s having a good day, I hope everybody accomplished something significant,” he said.

“Even if you didn’t accomplish anything significant, don’t be discouraged. Just aim to accomplish something significant tomorrow, and the next day.

“If anybody’s going through anything, I hope and you pray that you get through it and just know you have the strength to get through whatever the f*** you’re going through, no matter what it is.”

The onscreen text read: “In loving memory of Jarad "JUICE WRLD' HIGGINS ... You will be remembered forever. You will be loved forever. You will be here forever. Thank you for changing the world. 999 forever.”

Godzilla is a record breaking song for Eminem, who raps the most syllables per second in the song’s third verse. With a staggering 224 words in 30 seconds, Eminem smashed the record he previously set.
