Eminem lobbies for the AAF to come to Detroit, and the league seems interested

Marshall Mathers brought the spotlight back to the Detroit music scene as rapper Eminem. Now the famous Motor City resident and voice is trying to bring another football team to town…and it just might work.

Eminem sent out a tweet directed to the Alliance of American Football (AAF) longing for the upstart league to allow fighting as he watched the weekend’s game between the Birmingham Iron and Memphis Express on Monday night. He longed for a team in his hometown with the message — in all capital letters — “Don’t blow it”

AAF commissioner Charlie Ebersol didn’t waste much time in responding to the plea.

Is that an offer for Mathers to become an owner in the AAF for an expansion franchise in Detroit? Stay tuned…
