Eminem enlists Agent 47 to kill Slim Shady in HITMAN World of Assassination

HITMAN World of Assassination has partnered with hip-hop icon Marshall “Eminem” Mathers for one of gaming’s most ambitious celebrity crossovers.

Starting Dec. 1, 2025, players will join Agent 47 in a unique mission: Eminem tasks the world’s deadliest assassin with eliminating his most dangerous creation—Slim Shady, his chaotic alter ego.

Eminem vs. Slim Shady: Mission premise

This limited-time Elusive Target, titled “Eminem vs. Slim Shady,” runs through Dec. 31, 2025, and is completely free for all HITMAN World of Assassination players. The concept is rooted in Eminem’s 2024 conceptual album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). In the album, Marshall Mathers confronts the younger persona that defined his early career.

In the mission, Eminem hires Agent 47 to eliminate Slim Shady, because Slim Shady has evolved beyond his creator’s control. Now a violent, separate entity, he must be stopped.

The gameplay takes place in the Popsomp Hills Asylum, a dreamlike Hokkaido facility where Slim Shady operates a broadcasting empire from within the hospital’s confines. Players navigate interconnected zones each filled with opportunities for creative eliminations, with the recording studio converted from an operation theatre being one standout.

As an Elusive Target mission, the gameplay should typically be more free flowing and open world than in story mode missions. But players will only get one shot to successfully complete their mission, which could be made much harder with what IO Interactive calls “dreamlike twists that mirror Slim Shady’s unhinged reality.”

Creative gameplay and thematic integration

True to HITMAN’s signature assassination sandbox approach, the mission features multiple creative methods for completing objectives. One particularly clever element involves a poisoned dish of the legendary “Mom’s Spaghetti,” a direct reference to the iconic 2002 hit “Lose Yourself.” Beyond that Easter egg, the mission incorporates numerous references to Eminem’s discography and career milestones. And the artist even performs the track “Houdini” within the game.

The collaboration between HITMAN and Eminem stands out thanks to its emphasis on authentic theming. Rather than a simple cosmetic update, IO Interactive has once again crafted a unique experience extending the “Death of Slim Shady” narrative into interactive storytelling. It is no surprise that Eminem’s long-time creative collaborator Paul Rosenberg was also involved in the creation of this mission.

How to play Eminem vs. Slim Shady mission in HITMAN World of Assassination?

The mission launches on Dec. 1, 2025, and will remain available through Dec. 31, 2025. During this one-month window, players can simply load up HITMAN World of Assassination and navigate to the Elusive Targets section. There, select the Eminem vs. Slim Shady mission to access the Popsomp Hills Asylum setting. Complete your objective to eliminate Slim Shady using your preferred method, and extract.

As an Elusive Target mission, the Eminem collaboration will likely be a one-time experience, though IO Interative may re-release popular targets later. The mission will be available on all platforms where HITMAN World of Assassinations is playable, ensuring access across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch 2, and even the ROG Xbox Ally.

The Eminem partnership is the latest in a series of high-profile celebrity crossovers that have established HITMAN as a platform for exciting partnerships.

Bruce Lee Tribute: The Infiltrator mission, running Sept. 25 to Nov. 20, 2025, honored Bruce Lee’s 85th anniversary by positioning the martial arts legend as Agent Lee, Agent 47’s ally rather than a target. The mission took place during a tournament at the Himmapan Hotel in Bangkok, where players worked alongside Lee to infiltrate the Concord Union crime syndicate.

Mads Mikkelsen: Fan-favorite Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen reprised his role as Le Chiffre, the villain from 2006’s Casino Royale for a mission called “The Banker.” Running from June 6 to July 6, 2025, the mission allowed players to earn exclusive cosmetics usable in the upcoming 007 First Light game launching in 2026.

Conor McGregor: MMA Legend Conor McGregor was also part of the Elusive Targets List as The Disruptor. The mission saw Agent 47 tasked with preventing McGregor from winning an MMA match on the iconic Isle of Sgàil. The mission ran from June 27 to July 9.

Jean-Claude Van Damme: Released Dec. 12, 2024, the Van Damme mission featured the Belgian action star as Max “The Splitter” Valliant. Van Damme portayed a former ICA operative, resurfacing at a data storage facility in Chongqing, bringing “action movie villain energy” according to the actor himself.

New roadmap for HITMAN World of Assassinations content

In addition to the new Elusive Target, IO Interactive is also starting a new roadmap of new content releases for players. This will include the following:

  • Two new challenges
  • Two new Featured Batches
  • Three returning Elusive Targets (Including Jean-Claude Van Damme)
  • Two returning Events: Holiday Hoarders and Hokkaido Snow Festival

Alongside these, two new Twitch drops will also be available to redeem (Bomb-Ass Dynamite and the Solstice Suit).
