Emily Scarratt has been named to the Red Roses’ Rugby World Cup squad for a record fifth time.
Head coach John Mitchell has picked a hugely experienced side for the tournament, with a combined 1,374 international caps between its 32 members.
England come into their home tournament as heavy favourites after winning a seventh straight Six Nations title and fourth consecutive Grand Slam in April.
They will open the tournament at the Stadium of Light on August 22, facing the United States before facing Samoa and Australia in subsequent pool matches.
Veteran centre Scarratt, 35, will become the first English rugby union player to contest five World Cups, while Alex Matthews and Marlie Packer will play their fourth.

The side will be captained by Gloucester-Hartpury’s Zoe Aldcroft, who took on the role in January.
“To lead the team into a home Rugby World Cup is an incredible feeling,” she said. “This group have a fantastic opportunity to inspire young boys and girls all over the country - it’s something we have spoken about as a collective and we’re relishing the chance to do so.
“Pulling on the white shirt is always a massive privilege and we can’t wait to do that, backed by our amazing home support.”
Mitchell added: “It is a rare and awesome opportunity for this group to represent the Red Roses at a home World Cup.
“The selection process is never easy. It’s been a thorough two-year process to select the right blend of positional cover, skill, mindset and connection – we believe this is a squad that can win the World Cup.”
England are chasing their first World Cup title since 2014 after being beaten as finalists in both 2017 and 2021.
