Emily Ratajkowski has shared photos from her birthing experience, as well as new photos of her newbornbaby, after announcing last week the arrival of her first child.

The model shared a collage of photos showing her in the hospital delivery room while giving birth to her and her husband Sebastian Bear-McClard’s first child on Instagram on Wednesday.

In the photos, which come after Ratajkowski announced the arrival of the couple’s child, Sylvester Apollo Bear, on 8 March 2021, she can be seen using an oxygen mask and cradling the newborn.

In another photo, a hand, which appears to be Bear-McClard’s, holds her face, while another sees the model pushing.

“In between pushes/first moments with Sly. Life!” the 29-year-old captioned the photos.

The screenshot of sentimental moments has been met with a flood of congratulatory messages, with model Kaia Gerber commenting: “Beautiful Mama. Welcome baby Sly,” while Adwoa Aboah wrote: “These are beyond beautiful. Welcome Sly.”

Ratajkowski shared the first photo of herself and the couple’s baby, whose sex is unknown, last week, when she uploaded a photo of what appears to be her breastfeeding the baby, who can be seen wearing a pink hat, while announcing the arrival of the newborn.

“Sylvester Apollo Bear has joined us earth side. Sly arrived 3/8/21 on the most surreal, beautiful, and love-filled morning of my life,” the model wrote at the time.

The new mother first revealed that she did not intend to share the child’s sex when she announced her pregnancy on the cover of Vogue in October.

In an accompanying essay, Ratajkowski had explained that she and her husband hoped their child would tell them the gender they identify with when they were older.

“When my husband and I tell friends that I’m pregnant, their first question after ‘Congratulations’ is almost always ‘Do you know what you want?’” Ratajkowski wrote at the time. “We like to respond that we won’t know the gender until our child is 18 and that they’ll let us know then.

“Everyone laughs at this. There is a truth to our line, though, one that hints at possibilities that are much more complex than whatever genitalia our child might be born with: the truth that we ultimately have no idea who - rather than what - is growing inside my belly.”
